“A warm roof” is a flat roof that is protected with a layer of thermal insulation. The insulation is located between the roof support and the waterproofing.
First, a vapour barrier is applied to the roof support (according to the indoor climate class of the underlying space). Then the insulation is applied and the waterproofing layer is applied.
In this way, the insulation protects the roof floor from strong temperature fluctuations. The risk of movements and cracks in the roof floor is thus reduced.
The temperature load on the waterproofing membrane is very high in warm roofs. The high melting point of DERBIGUM SP FR, >150°C, makes it the perfect waterproofing membrane in combination with a warm roof.
