Beckenried Viaduct
With a length of 3150 meter the Beckenried viaduct is one of the longest bridges of the Swiss Federal Highway System. It belongs to the North-South route connceting the cities Basle and Chiasso.
The bridge is located in a scenic area on the shores of the lake of Lucerne in Central Switzerland and traverses a slope having dip angles between 10 and 40°. The superstructure of the viaduct is resting on 58 hollow piers founded on the sound bedrock.
