With a proven 50-year lifespan, certified performance, and continuous innovation, we set the benchmark for circular roofing solutions.
History & milestones
Our circular journey started long before it became a buzzword:
- 1990: first recycling line for bituminous membranes
- 2010: take-back system via distributors
- 2013: PwC certificate confirms recycled content
- 2022: Cradle to Cradle Bronze for NT range
- 2025: Launch of Novitumen® – fully circular, zero virgin raw materials
Proven service life
Derbigum roofs have a proven service life of 50+ years, backed by independent field evidence – not just lab tests or theoretical projections. This is confirmed by our Durability Performance Study, which evaluated real roofs installed since 1973 across Belgium, France and Denmark, and independently certified by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) for a minimum service life of 50 years.
Even after decades, no demolition is needed: one additional layer is enough to give the roof a second life. And when that time comes? It’s fully recyclable.
